Product Description

Instructor: Lauren Christman, LMT, assisted by Richard Polishuk, LMT; NCBTMB #450788-08

However, for some of us, the base of the skull itself (the "cranial base") is unbalanced, creating an asymmetric platform for the joints. With intraoral work, we have wonderful access to this area. In this class we'll review the anatomy and function of the cranial base, and learn how to assess and balance the occiput, temporal bones, sphenoid, dural membranes and sub-occipital muscles.

The manual technique is gentle, specific and highly effective, allowing you to work with people who have recent trauma or acute pain. Some techniques will be from within the mouth; some will be external, allowing for varied treatment goals. The instructors have a wide background in structural, cranial and orthopedic methods, and are committed to bridging with various learning styles and individual backgrounds.

Enrollment is limited to ensure a good student-teacher ratio and there is ample in-class exchange time.

Prerequisite: Endorsement to practice intraoral work. Those therapists who have previous intraoral classwork, but are not endorsed may attend class with prior approval from the instructor.  Please contact Lauren at: lauren@craftedtouch.com.

What to Bring: Set of sheets; pillow or bolster; wear loose clothing; 2 facemasks (surgical masks, N95 respirators or KN95 respirators); an anatomy atlas (Clemente, Netter, Theime, for example). The anatomy atlas is not required, but if you have one, please bring it. Please leave everything not needed for class in your vehicle or at home. Use a large tote bag (think Ikea or a beach tote) or suitcase to contain your "what to bring items".
