Dickinson, Eileen - PT
With roots in Physical Therapy since 1975, I have cultivated a lifelong passion for learning and sharing knowledge. As a Trager Practitioner since 1998, I developed Sensational Joints, an elective course for Trager International, which provided students with hands-on experiences in a gross anatomy lab. I’m also the founder of Tragerology, an online community of learners eager to explore the scientific underpinnings of somatic principles and practice. My recent explorations include the fascinating field of biotensegrity and its applications to us as bodyworkers. I am on the teaching team of Applied Biotensegrity in Physiotherapy.
While I’ve retired from practicing as a PT directly with clients, I continue to see clients for Trager and Foundation Training, which I find is an amazing combination for evening out the body-wide tensional network, relieve symptoms, and prevent dysfunction.
Much of my continuing education as a PT was with David Butler and the team at NOI Group, and from Mark Comerford. These pioneers in the fields of nerve mobilization and pain science, and functional movement anatomy, have contributed to new understandings and ways of interacting with clients for better results.
I’m equally passionate about connecting with nature; as an avid beekeeper, I love sharing insights about pollinator plants and sustainable beekeeping methods. Whether it’s working in the garden or helping others reshape their bodymind, transformation—both internal and external—drives my work. My joy comes from supporting others on their own journeys of growth and change. Learning recharges me, and I embrace it wholeheartedly, continually seeking ways to enrich my practice and teaching. I teach to learn, and vice versa. Being a lifelong learner is simply part of who I am.
