ICMMT Certification Program Prerequisites

Who Is This Program For?

If you're drawn to the healing philosophy of Chinese Medicine and eager to integrate it into your massage practice, you're in the right place. Our program is open to massage therapists of all backgrounds—whether you're just starting out or already certified in another modality.

To enroll in this program, students must:

  • Hold a license in a profession that includes massage in its scope of practice, such as: massage therapy, naturopathy, chiropractic, acupuncture, midwifery, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, osteopathy or any other profession that has massage in its scope of practice.
  • Be physically able to participate in all classes and complete homework assignments.
  • Have support systems in place (time, financial, emotional, work, family, etc) to fully engage in the program and any personal development it may bring
  • Maintain active malpractice insurance throughout the duration of the program
  • Complete one Acupressure course taught by the program instructor. The following classes meet this prerequisite: Pregnancy Massage & Acupressure; Oncology Massage & Acupressure; Acupressure’s Potent Points Day 1 or Day 2; Balance the Nervous System with Tools from Chinese Medicine Day 1 or Day 2; Chinese Meridian Acupressure; Aroma Acutouch Therapy to Balance the Chinese 5 Elements; Discover Chinese Meridian Acupressure; or, Discover Chinese Five Elements Acupressure. If you have taken any other classes with the program Instructor that you feel should be eligible, please contact the instructor directly.
