Product Description

Instructor: Dawn Schmidt, LMP; NCBTMB #451818-11

Day 1 - (Treat the Feet)

Treat your client’s feet with Myofascial, Energetic and Structural Decompression techniques. Explore the structure and function, of the arches, retinaculum, ligaments and tendons, bones and joints and how they relate to function of the whole body. Visual, auditory and tactile assessments provide information helpful in focusing your treatment approach. Related lower leg structures that affect the foot will also be addressed. Explore ways to provide relief for such conditions as plantar fasciatis, bunions, hammer toe, fallen arches, bone spurs and more. This course is primarily hands on with some lecture.

What to Bring: Set of sheets, bolster/pillow, pair of shorts that allows easy access to the knee. If you have an anatomy text (such as Clemente or Netter), please bring it for reference--it's not required. Please trim your toe nails.

Day 2 - (Business Ethics)

Regardless of your role in the business of massage, this course is for you. Explore ethical issues and responsibilities relating to being a business owner, contractor, employer or employee. Examine the differences between employees vs. contractors. Discuss ways to best communicate roles and boundaries to optimize win-win outcomes and serve business success. Delve into ways to negotiate effective contracts/agreements that reduce conflict or frustration. Determine what defines "good" and ethical policies and practices as a foundation for ethical business operations.
