S.) Refresh Your Intraoral Skills & Comprehensive Jaw Assessment: Both Classes (Seattle May 19, 2018)

Product Description

Instructor: Joe Rodin, LMP, Certified Trager Practitioner; NCBTMB #681

Saturday Morning - (Refresh Your Intraoral Skills)

Many massage therapists get their intraoral endorsement, but few use those intraoral skills every day, so their confidence and precision can fade with time. Spend four hours refining your skills and working with greater confidence for an immediate improvement of your intraoral treatments.

In this class you'll review the main intraoral muscles. Detail will be given to identify and palpate important landmarks in the jaw, connective tissue, and muscle topography. You will leave the class with your skills refreshed and feel reinvigorated about intraoral work.

Prerequisite:  You must have your WA state intraoral endorsement or be from a state that doesn't have intraoral licensing requirements.  Students who have taken a longer program that included intraoral work (like cranio-sacral or structural bodywork) or a 16-hour intraoral class but have not yet be endorsed may also be admitted by prior approval, please call Robbin at 206.853.6875 for further details.

What to Bring: Set of sheets. Please wear loose fitting clothing.

Saturday Afternoon - (Comprehensive Jaw Assessment)

There are multiple factors that affect people with TMJ issues. These include the size and symmetry of the upper and lower jaws, how the teeth fit together, the bite plane, and more. Learn more about these problems so you can improve your client's well-being.

Complex clients may be affected by any combination of dental work, orthodontia, trauma, bruxism, head, neck and shoulder pain or dysfunction, and irregularities in the size and shape of the maxilla, mandible, sphenoid or temporal bones, which affect the function of the bite.

In this class you will learn to assess and differentiate between various types of TMJ problems and to delineate their various contributing factors both within and beyond the upper and lower jaw. The focus of this class is on assessment and creating a logical, individualized treatment plan for various maladies. You will also learn about auxiliary treatments including splints, medications, and various joint procedures.

There are no prerequisites for this class.

What to Bring: Set of sheets. Please wear loose clothing.
