S2.) Addressing Upper Extremity Nerve Entrapment Syndromes (Seattle March 4, 2018)

This course extensively reviews the major nerve pathways of the upper extremity, including common nerve entrapment sites, reviews basic neural assessment tests, and provides palpatory practice to locate the nerve pathways on self and each other. Participants will also learn and practice effective soft-tissue interventions to help alleviate these conditions. This class is 75% hands-on. Participants will learn:

  • the common mechanisms of nerve injuries
  • to identify the brachial plexus complex
  • to delineate the pathways of the median, ulnar, and radial nerves through the upper extremity.
  • the major entrapment sites for the median, ulnar and radial nerves of the upper extremity.
  • typical nerve assessment tests
  • simple nerve glide maneuvers
  • practical treatment interventions

Registration Options: We are offering this class both as part of a two-day class, or as one of two individual one-day classes. What to Bring: set of sheets, face cradle cover, and a pillow/bolster. Wear a loose fitting top and for women please be able to expose the shoulder girdle (i.e. wear/bring a tank top, bikini top or have a bra that easily shows the chest wall and axila).
