G.) Pediatric Manual Therapy: Infants & Newborns (Seattle May 17-19, 2013)
In this introductory course, we will look at the essential skills for working safely and effectively with newborns and infants (up to age 1). Between the physical stresses of being born and the remarkable, rapid growth within the first year, this population has its own set of challenges – even among relatively healthy children a lot can be done to help their bodies adjust and grow. To treat them, we will use a blend of myofascial, visceral and cranial techniques aimed at the relatively healthy child. We will practice assessing and enhancing normal joint range and reflexive movement patterns as a way of clearing stresses within the child's system.

ZN.) Pediatric Manual Therapy: Children from School Age to Pre-Teen (Seattle September 14-15, 2013)
Children pose a wonderful blend of challenges for manual practitioners: in many ways their bodies have become like adults (as compared with infants or toddlers), however, they are deeply involved in the process of becoming their own selves. Their cognitive, emotional and motor development thrives within a physical system that has established itself before age 5. Now they commence with learning about themselves, others and the world around them. A growing child is generally an active child and manual therapy can help with common injuries or asymmetries in development.

ZO.) Myofascial Balancing: Balance in the Neck and Head (Seattle September 27-29, 2013)
About this Class: In this course, we will evaluate and treat: joint-by-joint alignment within the cervical spine; the mobility of the cranial dura (our deepest fascial layer); and the postural dynamics of the neck and head on the ribcage.
About this Series: The four Myofascial Balancing classes each deal with a different region of the body. Our primary focus is assessment-driven myofascial work. It is non-lubricated, and frequently uses the skeleton as a ‘handle’ and as a guide in evaluating alignment. The work is designed to keep the loop between evaluation and treatment as short as possible, so that the practitioner remains well-oriented and therapeutic goals can be attained quickly. Also, simple postural and movement strategies are taught to help clients improve alignment and usage in daily life.

ZV.) Myofascial Balancing: Balance in the Ribcage, Shoulder Girdle & Upper Extremity (Seattle November 15-17, 2013)
About this Class: The shoulder girdle makes the most sense when we see it as a single unit that includes the arms, and when we appreciate its need for support from a well-balanced ribcage. In this course, we will evaluate and treat common imbalances in the trunk, shoulder girdle, and arms, including: gross and detailed balance within the ribcage and thoracic spine; the dynamics of the shoulder girdle; and the extension of those dynamics into the arms and hands.
