The goal of the Aston Paradigm is to assist individuals in reclaiming their own true natural structure. The system uses a combination of bodywork, movement education, ergonomics and fitness training to achieve these goals.
There are three forms included in the Aston bodywork: Aston massage, myokinetics and arthro-kinetics. The Aston Spiraling Technique, also known as Aston massage, is the basis of the Aston Bodyworks classes. By using a three-dimensional, non-compressive touch, it is highly effective in releasing unnecessary tension in the body's tissue.
This system approaches the body respecting the shape, grain and layer of specific tissue, always keeping in mind that the specific work must be congruent with the overall body balance. The nature of the work is 3-dimensional, both in the movement of the practitioner and in the palpation of tissue. The resulting sensitivity to the nature and direction of tension makes the work virtually painless while accessing the layers from superficial tissue through to the bone with ease.
This course teaches the fundamental skills and understanding to:
- Increase your ability to see and understand alignment and stress patterns in your clients' bodies.
- Refine and improve the quality and sensitivity of your touch.
- Learn the basic Aston Spiraling Technique to incorporate into your bodywork practice.
- Improve your body mechanics to make your work easier, more accurate and more effective.
- Exchange sessions to practice these skills.
This course is open to all health professionals or enrolled students in a body-touch field (i.e. massage therapist, physical therapist, chiropractor, etc.) according to the professional's own State's Practice Acts & Laws. This class is a prerequisite for the Aston-Patterning and Aston Kinetics Certification Programs. See the website www.astonkinetics.com for more details about the Certification program.

Aston Massage, or the Spiraling Technique, is a painless hands-on approach which respects and matches the layer, shape and grain of the soft tissue. This class increases the therapist's ability to read body patterns, improve palpation ability, and improve body mechanics while learning the hands-on techniques.
