What is Samadhi?
This class will focus more on the yin style of head massage; or, Samadhi. More soothing and relaxing, with slower movements that can induce a meditative state in both practitioner and client alike. Like its counterpart--champi, the Indian head massage practiced by barbers across India--you will find that this head massage on the table promotes beautiful hair and supple skin as well.

Indian Head Massage is a comprehensive style of massage with thousands of years of history typically done seated and clothed that powerfully affects the whole you. What better way to totally relax than to take your Indian Head Massage technique to your clients during a regular table massage? Learn this 15-minute routine that you can layer on to your regular massage session or as an add-on treatment for a truly deluxe session.

During our mini-samadhi class, we will focus on more that the head. In fact, we will address the face, neck, shoulders and arms as well. Laurie English, the creator of the mini-samadhi class is a national trainer of ChampissageTM. She has traveled to India to study Indian head massage with the barbers there. Profoundly affected by her study with the barbers, which has deepened her understanding of head massage, Laurie is developing a series of head massage classes exploring the depth and breadth of this fascinating technique.
